A man of many talents, Marco Glaviano commenced his artistic journey with a degree in architecture from the University of Palermo, and might easily have enjoyed a successful career as an architect, jazz musician or theatrical set designer. Instead, he opted to pursue his interest in photography and, in 1967, left his native Sicily and headed first to Rome and then to Milan, where he established and maintained a studio for eight years.

In short order, his photographs began appearing in major European fashion magazines, which eventually brought him to New York City, where he established residence in 1975.
Since then, Marco has continued to photograph fashion and beauty for leading American and European publications. Having shot more than 300 covers worldwide, his photographs have appeared in Italian Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and ELLE publications internationally, and in advertisements for Bertolucci, Marchesa Couture, Gilli, Blauer and the Las Vegas Hilton. Marco also photographed all four of Cindy Crawford's celebrated swimsuit calendars.
An exhibition of Marco's "Jazz Musician" series debuted in May 2007 at Nhow gallery in Milan. Featuring photographs displayed on and among architectural installations of Marco's design, the interactive exhibition showcased Marco's many talents and stood out as an art object in and of itself.
In addition, Marco has published to date five books of his photography. He is the proud owner of the recently reopened Milano Studios in connection with the Nhow Hotel. Currently, Marco is working on his latest book. He lives between New York and Milan.
